Less than 2 weeks to ns!?

wow, it's been such a long tme since i last blogged. haha since i have nothing better to do now, i shall update a little bit of myself. In less than 4 days time, it will be the release of A level results! I seriously pray hard tat i can make it to uni man... and exactly one week after tat, i 'm off to ns! Time really flies when u're enjoying urself man.. i can still remember 3 months ago i was just wishing my friend gd luck for his ns in mid Dec... and now in a blink of an eye, it's time for me to enlist!? i really can't believe it...

Anyway, this month of feb has really been a memorable month for me. At first i thought i would be rotting at home everyday after the last of my gd friends enlisted at the end of Jan. But little did i realise tat so many unexpected things would happen. In just this month alone, i had made quite a number of new friends, had a short stint at work ( which failed terribly and make me realised how tough it is to earn money), passed my basic theory driving test at my first attempt, improved my stamina quite a bit (after regular swimming and gym sessions with a gd sengkang buddy) and most importantly of all, i realised tat i have become a much more confident person as a whole...even though i'm still quite shy at times la haha. So all in all, Feb had been a very gd birthday month for me la i would say.

Well the only downside in feb is the fact that my favourite team west bromwich albion had been losing quite a lot for the past few games? haha. However, I will still be a loyal supporter of the club no matter wad.. and tat is even if they get relegated this season... I really enjoyed supporting them despite all the losses.. it really pains at times when they played extremely well BUT still lose the game due to some stupid silly defensive errors. Even my friend who is a man utd fan agreed tat west brom should have beaten everton the previous games after we both watched tat game together at his house. I'm sure west brom can start a winning streak soon, hopefully with the match against arsenal at THE HAWTHORNS tmr...

Alright then, tat's about it. It's gonna be POP time soon for some of my friends in ns... those lucky bastards haha... and i'll have to enlist 2 or 3 days after them. I'm just hoping tat everything will turn out smoothly from now on, starting with the dreaded A level results this friday.......

Time to de-stress

Finally... after 3 months of hard work, A levels has finally ended. There will definitely be regrets here and there as i only started to wake up and really study the right way 2 weeks before prelim, which means i had only around 3 months or less to hardcore before the As? Anyway it's all over so i think it's time to look forward and start planning what i wanna do for the next 4 months before i enlist in 13th march.

Have a relatively good time today in my friend's house right after the last paper today. Played Ps2, watch movies, eat delicious mac delivery... Been quite a long time since I last felt so relaxed. After watching harry potter and the order of the phenoix just now, I now have the urge to read up the last and final book of the Harry Potter series. It's a good time to read it now as the hype has completely died down and I can read it peacefully without fear of any spoilers by those big mouths.

And finally in around 2 weeks time, it'll be the arrival of the AFF Suzuki Cup. Just for ur info, the suzuki cup is the most prestigious soccer tournament competed among ASEAN teams. It was previously known as the tiger cup. Hope the finals can be Singapore vs Thailand again. It's gonna be damn interesting...for me at least.

So in the mean time, I shall just slack around for the next 2 weeks first before deciding on what to do next....

No time for emotions

I just deleted my previous post as I think it is pretty pointless and stupid to emo here and there. It will only make one feel even worse. There are just so many things in life which u can do and thinking too much is really bad for ur mind and soul. So I have learnt not to think too much and compare myself with others because it's plain stupid.

Anyway, I went to watch Money No Enough 2 with my whole family yesterday. It's been a decade since we last watched a movie together as a family so it's gd to get back together again. Come think of it, the last movie which my whole family watched together in the cinemas was Money No Enough. And 10 years later we all watched Money No Enough 2 !! Wad a coincidence man.

The movie was quite good I would say as it can relate to many Singaporeans. Jack Neo is really good at this man. This movie is a must-watch for all Singaporeans. Even though there isn't as many funny scenes as compared to other Jack Neo movie, it's very meaningful as it showed the devilish side of money and how the lack of it can lead to one neglecting his own beloved family members. One thing is for sure: This movie is 10 times better than Ah Long(the movie shown earlier this year).

Next up, I'm looking forward to catching the movie ' Kallang Roar" in the theatres soon.

Farewell Kallang National Stadium

Our beloved National Stadium have just hosted it's last soccer match a few days ago where Singapore lost to the Saudis 2-0. At the same time, it also meant that Singapore is unable to further extend their World Cup Qualifying Campaign to the final round of qualification. But fret not, I think that the Singapore team has a lot of potential and undergo coach Raddy Avramovich, Singapore can now look forward to qualifying for the upcoming Asian cup in 2011.

So at present, there will not be any more Singapore matches for me to look forward to until December where the next ASEAN Football Championship begins. By then maybe I would have gone to serve NS...

Anyway, with the National Stadium slated to be torned down by this year, all soccer matches may be hosted at the new Marina Bay platform. This sounds really cool to me man.. Imagine watching a soccer game at the middle of the Kallang River.. sounds fantastic isn't it? haha.

At the mean time, I'll be looking very forward to the day where the new national stadium will host it's opening match. I'll definitely be there 3 years later and hopefully, I can finally experience the thrill of watching S'pore playing together with 55,000 fans at a stadium....

Immigrant FC vs Uzbekistan?

Yo. Gonna blog for just a little while for the match which I have been looking forward to since months ago. Yes it's Singapore vs Uzbekistan! I will be on my way to Kallang to support the team next mon on 2nd June. Hope to see 55,000 fans there as well.

However, despite all my looking forward to the match, there has been some disappointments for me along the way. One would be the fact that China-born stiker Qiu Li is now eligible to represent Singapore from this time onwards. This is not a good news for me as I have never believed in foreigners representing Singapore, especially in soccer! And now FAS has allowed another foreigner to represent them. Wad a disappointment man... I'm damn sick and tired of people accusing Singapore of buying success and I have no idea why the sports council is not doing anything about it. Worst of all, Captain Indra Sahdan Daud is out of the game due to an old injury... This would automatically means that 6 or maybe even 7 players out of the first team 11 would be foreigners... So am i really supporting Singapore? Or am i supporting Immigrant FC ( just a name i give for Singapore since they have so many immigrants in it)?

Nonetheless, I would still support Singapore for this upcoming match. However, if one day there comes a day where there is not a single local born player in the team, I'll cease to support Singapore soccer forever..

Yo.. had been ages since i last blogged..Reason being that I have become more and more lazy to blog and I doubt many people read it anyway..

Alright, just a little update. I just finished NAPFA test 2 weeks ago and as usual, I failed terribly. To now, I still can't do a single bloody pull-up. This is damn disgraceful judging from the fact that even some plump friends whom I know of can do at least 2. I guess this is the result of not putting in the effort to train. Another Nemesis of mine would be standing broad jump. I can't even jump past the 2 metre mark and I'm getting sick of it. For some reason, I just can't get the stupid technique right even though I have jumped for more than a hundred times since primary school. But on a positive note, the next NAPFA would not take place until August. So I have aproximately 3 months to start training.. No more 'all talk and no action'..

Next, moving on to my academic performance. Not much change I would say as I'm still considered one of the worst few in my class. However, I do find myself improving gradually each day and hopefully I can get at an E grade for all my subjects for the upcoming mid-year exams.. I seriously need to boost my morale.

Lastly, on to my favourite sports- soccer. Nowadays, I find myself drifting away more and more from European football but closer and closer to local football. I have no idea how it happens but I'm definitely more interested in Singapore's upcoming world cup qualifying match against Uzbekistan than the European Champions league final. My brother find it crazy but I don't see anything wrong with it. At least by supporting our local players, they will appreciate it. I don't see any point in supporting Manchester United for example as they dun give a shit about u in anyway. Local football deserve my full support. Anyway, I will 100% be making my way to the National Stadium this coming June and I hope to see a near if not full packed National Stadium. However, I doubt this wish of mine can ever come true..

Alright that's about it. Just a word of wisdom before I leave: "The only way to obtain self-confidence will be to face your fear." However, this is easier said than done..

A lesson learnt

Just came back from my cca today. Initially I thought that it was gonna be another great time of free fun session of games, however, it turned out not to be.

Today, a group of games facilitators came to my cca and taught us how to play a game called 'Business Cahoots' or something close to that. As the name sounds, it's a game which requires u to think creatively, build as many factories and earn as much profits as possible. There will be 5 members in each group. When the game starts, each group will have to discuss and strategise and all that. It's from this game that I can see the true colours of some of my friends. Even though it's just a game,some of the people in my group were quarrelling and cursing at each other due to a clash of opinions. It's such a sad thing to see man. Come on dudes! It's just a game! We're supposed to have fun and not try to slit each other throat! It completely ruined the game man..

How I wish that I was in the other groups, where people where discussing amicably and having lots of fun at the same time. I guess it's all due to individual's personality. Some people are just so damn f***ing hard to work with, thinking that they're the smartest in the world. Such are the kind of people whom i detest the most man seriously. They are the ones who make this world so difficult to live in.

But it's alright, even though it spoils my mood quite a little bit, I guess this applies to the real working world as well. U will not have a choice as to who u wanna work with. It's all due to fate. So I guess the only thing people can do would be to keep their fingers crossed and hope that they don't have to work together with those kind of bastards for whatever projects or assignments. Sorry for the harsh words but I'm sure many of you would agree with me that the word 'bastard' is already an understatement describing such people, haha..

good news

Damn, got a slight fever today when I came home after a game of pool with my friend.. But i would rather get sick now instead of during a normal school day where I'll have to miss lessons..

Anyway, I just received news from the advertisement that channel 5 is showing the world cup qualifying match between Singapore and Lebanon next Wednesday! This is great news for me man seriously! Initially, i wanted to go to the National Stadium on that particular day. However, I have cca on that day and my chairman just refused to allow me to leave early. So it's good that channel 5 is showing it live on television so that I won't have to miss the game. For the those who are free, I would strongly encouraged u guys to go catch the game live at the National Stadium at 7.30pm. It would be the last competitive game played at the National Stadium (This will confirm and definitely be the last game) and the lions would really need our support in this "do-or-die" match.

There will also be a friendly match between Singapore and Australia on 22 March at the National Stadium. If I can recover on time, I would most likely go and watch the game, but provided tat the rest of my friends are free to go as well.

Alright, the march block test is finally over... And i know that there is no way I can pass any of the subjects. But nvm, there's no point talking all these now. I just have to carry on working harder to try catching up with the rest of my schoolmates. Time is really running out man.. Anyway, there is this great song which I have found in youtube. A Nation's Hope- Indra Sahdan Daud

I know this has been reported in the news for quite a few days already. But for those whose minds have been polluted by the excitement of the epl, our very own national captain Indra Sahdan Daud has agreed to extend his trial with Major League side Real Salt Lake by another 2 weeks. This is great news for Singapore football because if Indra managed to get a contract in the US, then it will automatically pave the way for other local talents such as Sharil Ishak and Khairul Amri to play abroad in the future. So come on Indra, the whole nation is behind you! U can do it!

Finally another long weekend

It's been 16 days since I last blogged. Life has never been as stressful before man. Over the last 2 weeks, everyday was a stressful day man. Over the previous post, I had said that J2 life is much better than J1 life. How wrong I was!! The workload in J2 is tremendous man. I'm really struggling to keep up with all the lectures and tutorials. The worst of all is that I have not really catch up on all my J1 topics yet... Really regretted not working as hard as I have promised myself to do so over the Dec holidays. Thus, I have now landed myself in deep s**t and I seriously hope that a miracle can save me.

Yesterday was a traumatic day for me. I was having one to one tution with my chemistry tutor ( fat hope) and she wanted to test me on all the 4 main reaction mechanism for organic chemistry. I managed to sweep past 2 of them but struggled quite a bit for the other 2. As a result of that, she blasted straight at my face, telling me that I'm wasting her time and all that by not studying my work well. I argued that I did study, just that i couldn't remember clearly some of the drawing steps. Oh Come on man, while I was doing the mechanism, she was chit-chatting all the way with 2 girls from her form class and I was distracted by them. That's the reason why I can't do my work properly. But of course I couldn't possibly tell her that straight in her face. So in order to avoid adding fuel to an already raging firestorm, I just keep my mouth shut and let her rant all over me. I wasn't paying attention to her until she told me that I will get kicked out of school if I don't do well for march block test. I was shell-shocked man... really traumatised and woke me up from my dreamland....

Before she left she threatend to call my parents and she really did so today... but I was glad that my father was understanding and do more 'encouraging' than 'scolding', which makes me feel much better. Looks like the only thing that I can do now is to just mug harder and hope for the best...

On a lighter note, Singapore has just won the bid to host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in August 2010. Gd job man Singapore. But seriously speaking, I don't really give a hoot about other sports EXCEPT for soccer, haha. I hope the soccer team can do well man. Come on it's the most thrilling sport!

Anyway, there's no school tomorrow due to some teacher's welfare day. Time to catch up on a bit of sleep and I will be looking forward to watching the S-league match live on channel 5 tomorrow at 7.30pm. Hope to catch the movie 'jumper' as well.

Yeah that's about it. Time for me to get out of here. Before I leave, here's just a word of wisdom from me: " Whenever u feel sad or depressed, do not ever think of suicide. Remember, nothing can be more worse off than death. There are just so much pleasures in life for u to do- soccer, games, sex, eating and lots more! So remember, death is the worst thing that can happen to u, nothing else can be worse than that... being able to live is a privilege."

1st post of year 2008

Yo! It's been more than a month since I last blog. Life, as usual, has been pretty monotonous since the start of the year. But i must emphasize that J2 life is definitley much better than J1. Some may argue that J2 is worse since more mugging has to be done but it's precisely because of the mugging that J2 life is much better! No more PW, no more chinese, less nonsensical leadership stuff and a fixed home room. Sounds good isn't it?

Anyway, it's gonna be my birthday tomorrow. Finally I'm 18. I'm free to watch M18 movies and consent forms will no longer apply to me. That's great man, less restrictions.

And tomorrow will be the big match between Saudi Arabia and Singapore. I seriously hope that channel 5 can show it 'live' on television as that would be a great birthday gift for me man haha.

So that's all man, enjoy ur chinese new year break ahead!

Reflection year 2007

Alright people, in just 2 hours time, it will be the arrival of year 2008. Now before I move on to the brand new year, I just wanna take this opportunity to reflect on year 2007.

Year 2007 has been a year of many ups and downs for me, but more of downs than ups I would say. This has been a really extraordinary year because it is very different from the previous other years. A major reason for that would be the fact that there were girls in my school this year as compared to the previous 10 years in Catholic High. However besides that, I believe that me taking up a bit of leadership role in school has made grown up a lot. In the past, I was a very introverted boy who don't socialise well. But after this year, even though I'm still as quiet at times, I feel that I have improved in a social level such that I'm able to communicate with more people of all sorts of character much better, which is a good thing. Alright, now I shall summarise some major events which happened in my life this year which I would most likely not forget in years to come.

January to March:
Well this 3 months is the happiest school life that I have ever experienced from the day I was in primary 1 to today. The PAE class which I was in, 07s213, is the best class I have ever had. It was a class with all sorts of characters. The nerdy ones, the high ones, the quiet ones, the horny ones... haha. Everybody was nice to each other and there was not a single sign of aloofness among anybody at all. That's wad made the class so good. So I just wanna thank everyone in 213 for the happiest school days in my life.

Mid-May:
This was month where my life starts to take a new path. I was shockingly elected as my class CG rep. That means I will start to carry responsibilities which I had never had during my secondary school years. Besides this, I would never ever forget the first time I share my umbrella with a very beautiful girl from my school... It was a wonderful moment which I won't forget, haha.

September:
Alright, this is the worst part of my life in 2007. Everything just went wrong. My studies, my leadership position and everything else just took a plunge. It was a very terrible depressing moment which I would want to erase from my mind. Looking back, I can heave a sign of relief that those days were finally over..

October-November:
This is a busy two months for me. Firstly, I have to organise the open house CG booth for my class ( which I think is completely meaningless and serve no purpose at all..). I struggled quite a bit, but in the end, everything turned out just right on the day itself and I could only feel a sense of satisfaction. Next, I did very badly for my promotional exams, passing just my maths out of 4 subjects. I was so afraid that I can't promote. My worst fears were almost confirmed when the vice-principal wanted to see my parents. But luckily, they decided to advance me at the end... wad a close shave. After that 'precarious' incident, it was time for PW oral presentation. Personally, I think I did a very good job as I was very well prepared for it. I remembered rehearsing my speech over and over again for more than 20 times haha. Just hope that I can get an A for PW.

Mid-November:
I went to the National Stadium with my friend to watch the World Cup Qualifying game between Singapore and Tajikistan. It was a great experience as that was my first time going to the stadium supporting my country along with 6,606( out of a 55,000 seater stadium) other Singapore fans. The cheers and jubilant which rang across the stadium when the team scored is a moment which I can't forget. I hope I can make it for the next game on March 26.

Okay that just summaries all the major events which occured to me this year. I want to thank everyone who had helped me out in some way or another, or even by just being my friend. I also wanna thank my peer tutor who had taught me since the end of year 2006 despite many restrictions.

So that's about it for my last post of year 2007, which is also my 80th post. I must make sure that year 2008 is a fun and successful year for me. To everyone out there: ' Happy New Year and may u have a smooth-sailing year ahead!'

Typical Christmas Eve

First of all, let me wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Today is the 24th of December, which means it is Christmas eve. To some people, this would be a day of joy and fun celebrating christmas with their friends or relatives. But for me, it has always been just a typical day of boredom at home. This is mainly due to the fact that many of my close friends and relatives do not celebrate christmas or they have their own party with their own relatives.

So for today, I stayed at home most of the time watching movies such as ' The Polar Express'. It is not a bad movie I would say. At first I thought that this would be a typical boring kiddy movie, but actually its storyline is not too bad. Kudos to channel 5 for sparing a thought for people like me who do not go out for christmas parties by broadcasting this special christmas movie to keep my festive mood ongoing.

Anyway, just like previous christmas eve, I would definitely not fail to watch a vcd which I bought many years ago : 'The Merry Mishaps Of Mr Bean'. Haha.. This is a great episode of Mr Bean which I will never fail to watch during the 24th of Dec every year. I just love Mr Bean man. Whenever I watched it, it will bring back the good old nostalgic times when I was just an innocent 5 year old kid...

Alright that's about it. I'm definitely looking forward to the next christmas eve and hope that somebody, be it my friends or my relatives, can organise a christmas gathering and invite me to it for the first time in my life. Haha.

In just a few days time, the year of 2008 will arrive. And I'm pretty certain that the way I spend new year's eve will be an exactly replica of the way I have spent today. The only difference is that I will be watching: ' Mr Bean Goes To Town' instead. Hahaha.....

Alright I'm back. Those past few weeks have been pretty enjoyable, but they are ending soon in just less than 20 days. How sad man..since this is gonna be my last long vacation before i enlist into NS next year..

Foreign Talent

I have been reading the straits times lately and there is one particular topic on the Saturday's edition regarding the use of foreign talent that had caught my attention. This has been a widely-debated hot topic and I should now pen down thoughts and feelings regarding this issue.

Now, as all of you should now, Singapore's sports have been using quite a considerable number of foreign talents. Two of such sports that depend on foreign talent widely would be soccer and table tennis. In soccer, there are up to 7 seven players who are not local breeds. And out of these seven, 5 of them are regular first team players for the Singapore soccer team. Table tennis on the other hand had world class China imports such as Li Jiawei for example.

Well personally, I do not like the idea of foreigners representing our countries in sports. Firstly. they are not even born here in this country or have anything to do with it. So what gives them the right to represent us. Secondly, I'm sure foreign talents will not have as much the desire to play for country pride as comapred to local sportsmen. Lastly, the feeling of jubilant is definitely not as great when a foreigner wins a medal as compared to a local winning. Now, is Singapore really such a small country without good local breeds such that it needs to depend on foreign talent to succeed in sports? I do not agree.

To say the truth, the population size of the country is not really a factor at all. Let's take for example the country Bahrain. Now Bahrain is a country with a very small population of around 700,000 people. But does that mean that their sports cannot make it? The answer is 'no'. With such a small population, they are capable of producing a good soccer team which nearly made it to the 2006 Fifa World Cup. Bigger countries such as Malaysia and Vietnam for example can't even make it pass the 1st round of qualification. Thus, this can show that the performance of sports does not depend on the population of the country.

Then what is the reason behind's Singapore need for foreing talent? below are just some which I have thought of:

1) Many parents think that playing sports does not have a bright future and thus forbid their children from playing them competitively.

2) For all men, they have to serve the country in the National Serivce for 2 years. This will greatly hinder the development of sports for youths and young adults.

3) The lack of support and media coverage.

4) Many people prefer to choose a longer and safer path by studying and getting a job instead of choosing the shorter and unpredictable path of sports.

Alright, above sums up all the reasons. If the government still decide to not do anything to change and try to improve the situation, then I got to say this , " Foreign Talents are here to stay not only for now, but forever."

World Cup 2010 Asian zone 3rd round draw

Can the lions go against all odds and qualify for
world cup 2010? We shall see....

Alright man, the draw for the 3rd round world cup qualifiers Asian zone. From the groupings, I think Singapore has a 30% chance of going through to the final round. Below is the draw, together with my take on which two team will go through to the final round of Asian World Cup Qualifying Round.

Iraq

My take: This is a tough one man. Australia is sure to take up the top spot. The second spot will most likely be a very close contest between China and Iraq. China has qualified for the 2002 world cup before while Iraq is the Asian Cup Champions this year. This is a tough call but I will take China since they have the home advantage ( Iraq will most likely not be playing a single game in their country due to conflicts).

Bahrain
Oman
Thailand

My take: Japan and Bahrain should get 1st and 2nd spot respectively. However, I can forsee Thailand putting up a very good fight for the 2nd spot.But in terms of experience, Bahrain has the slight edge.

My take: Both North and South Korea should get the top 2 spots. I forsee neither Jordan nor Turkmenistan creating much problems for them.

My take: Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan will be fighting it all out for 1st spot. Saudi should prevail.
Alright, I'm gonna be a little biase here. I think Singapore can get the 2nd spot depending on the amount of crowd support they received. I'm hoping that Singapore can get the second spot, but it won't be easy as both Uzbekistan and Lebanon are great teams as well.

My take: Iran will get the 1st spot. Kuwait, UAE and Syria will be fighting all out for the 2nd spot. I think Syria spring a surprise and snatch the 2nd spot. Their thumping of Indonesia 11-1 on aggregate during the second round really impress me.

Yeah baby!! Singapore is through to the 3rd round of world cup qualifying. That makes Singapore at least one of the top twenty teams in Asia! In the 3rd round, Singapore will be facing all the Asian powerhouse such as Australia, Japan, South Korean etc. This is gonna be damn interesting man. I can't wait to visit either the National Stadium or the Jalan Besar stadium to support the lions again. Go Singapore!

Singapore has beaten Tajikistan 2-0 at the National Stadium!! I was there yesterday at the match and the great experience will forever be etched into my mind. Together with 6,606 fans who were there at the National Stadium last night, we cheered and jumped in ecstasy whenever Singapore scored a goal. It was exhilarating man! I will never ever forget this particular match as it was my first ever 'live' game which I watched at the stadium. If time permits and Singapore managed to get into the third round, I'll definitely be back to support them. Go Singapore!! Yeah baby!! I have finally completed my last hurdle of this year, which is the Oral Presentation. It's not too bad I would say, except for the Q&A ( But I'm sure most people screwed up for it, so it's alright, haha).

Singapore vs Tajikistan- World cup qualifying round 2

Alright!! Singapore has made it to the 2nd round of the Asian Zone World Cup Qualifers. I'm so proud of them man! They managed to beat Palestine 7-0 on aggregate ( the 2nd leg was awarded 3-0 in favor of Singapore as the Palestine team failed to turn up at the National Stadium) Now, Singapore will be facing Tajikistan for the 2nd round of qualifiers. The first leg should be held at the Jalan Besar Stadium on 9 Nov while the 2nd leg will be held in Tajikistan. This time round by hook or by crook, I must go there and support our Singapore team man! My parents and I just went to see the Vice-principal in school a few hours ago. I was so glad and relieved that I can advance to JC2 next year. I want to take this opportunity to thank those who comforted me all this while telling me that everything would be fine till today. U guys are indeed my true friends.. So got to work hard from now on. No more dreaming during lectures and not doing tutorials. I have already promised my Civics tutor that I won't let anyone down if I managed to advance and I got to make sure that I keep that in mind.

So now, I left only two major hurdles before I end my tough JC1 life: Chinese A level and project work oral presentation. So come on everybody, let's work hard and do well together. All the best man!

Just A Little Reflection

Yo, I'm back again. Well life has been typical so far: PW chinese PW chinese PW chinese... Seriously, I'm getting a little sick and tired of it. I can't wait for all these to end and the holidays to arrive.

Well I just wanna talk about a chat which I just recently had with my Civics tutor (form teacher) Mr Tan. He called me up sometime last week (should be Tuesday if I'm not wrong) and have a good talk with me. He asked me about what are the things which went wrong that had resulted to my poor promo results and how I can improve if I advance to JC2 next year. Had a really honest man to man talk with him. The best part is that before I left, he gave me a bag of chocolates and cookies as encouragement for my studies and most importantly for being a helpful CG representative. I was quite touch to hear the latter as I'm really glad that there is at least one person who recognizes my hard work and all the 'sai kang'(shit work) that I have done for the class, hahaha. He's a great teacher I would say. One who cares a lot about the welfare of his students. Well I guess that's the main job of a form teacher isn't it?

Anyway, I just looked through a few of my friends' blog just now and they started about their lives, outing with friends and all sorts of stuff. Sometimes I just wonder why their lives seem so happy. Maybe some of them are just trying to seek attention? I have absolutely no idea. But seriously speaking, even as I'm blogging now, I'm not feeling happy at all. Hmmmm I guess the reason why I feel that way is due to a large extent to my sort of quiet nature. Maybe I should learn to go out, socialise, be confident and talk more often. It would definitely make me THINK less and DO more. " Socially confidence is the key to happiness." I guess that applies a lot to me.

Alright before I depart, here is my usual food for thought: " A smile is like a light in the window that tells others that there is a caring and sharing in you." Think about it as you enjoy the nice and peaceful sky above.

I just gotten back my last paper of my promotional exam today. Got yet another pathetic U for my physics. So all in all, I manged to get a B for chinese, E for maths, S for general paper and U for the rest of my subjects. I seriously hope that i can get promoted, or at least advanced to JC2. I'm keeping my fingers crossed man. This hurdle is indeed difficult to cross...

A couple of my classmates have already resigned to the fact that they'll get retained and the look of their disappointed and regretted face is really sad to see. I'm glad that I managed to wake up from my dreamland a couple of months before the promos and started doing my revision. At least I managed to pass my maths paper for the first time ever..

The results of whether I can get promoted still remains to be seen until 26 Oct. As for now, it's business as usual as I shall concentrate on my last two hurdles- Project Work and Chinese A level.

Wow, this is impressive man. I thought the scoreline would be pretty close.. really didnt expect Singapore to thump our opponents with a 4-0 win, haha. Anyway, we shouldn't be complacent. Palestine will travel to the Kallang National Stadium hoping to overturn the 4 goal deficit. According to their coach, anything is possible in football, but I seriously don't think that's gonna happen. So come on team Singapore! Phew, I can finally heaved a huge sigh of relief. After 2 full days of preparations, the CG booth was finally set up today. I guess our booth didnt do as badly as i thought. We sold about maybe 20 to 30 bowls of cocktails? Yeah that definitely exceed my expectations. This open house is a good learning experiece for me as it is the first time where I got to organize and set up a booth to do business. The only problem was that we didnt managed to finish selling all our 15 cans of cocktails...Hmm maybe we shouldn't have bought that extra 5 cans today...

Anyway, I just want to take this opportunity to thank Reuben and Syafiq, two of my classmates for selflessly helping out in the CG booth. Without them, I seriously wouldn't know what to do. You guys did a really good job man!

Alright, now that the open house house is over, up next would be the release of promotional exam results. I must pray hard to get promoted man...

So before school reopen on Monday, I got to really have a good rest and enjoy myself over the next two days. I thoroughly deserve it man, judging from the amount of stress that I have accumulated over the past few days over this open house.

I'm feeling so tired man. After just one whole day of CG booth preparation, I feel extremely drained man. However, looking on the brighter side of things, I realised that organising a booth is not that hard actually. I believed the reason why I feel so hopeless some time ago was because I didn't discuss and plan the booth properly with the IC from the other class. But after we really got together and thought about all the planning and stuff, I realised that the situation is not as bad as i thought. Yeah so it's 2 more days to open house and how I wish that I can quickly get it over and done with, then I can finally heave a sign of relief.

Anyway, I just received news from my chess captain that I finally got a rating of 1344 for myself. It's not too bad I would say, just slightly worse than my yahoo chess ratings,haha.

Before I depart, here is just another food for thought : "Time is like a river. When it has passed, we can never touch it again. Thus, we should always enjoy every moment of our lives." Enjoy the beautiful river above and think about it.

Yeah baby. It's finally the end of the promotional exam papers. It was hard work having to mug for the past few weeks and I can finally let my hair down and relax.

All in all, I should to be able to do much better in this promo exam as compared the the mid-years, where I did not put in my 100% at all. I seriously hope that I can pass my maths and chemistry because I know that there is alomost 0% chance of me passing my H2 physics. Physics is considered one of my more confident subjects but I screwed it up big time for the promos. Guess the lack of practice has come back to haunt me. I have to promote man!!!

Yeah so I would be having another 5 days of break before going back to school on Wednesday. Promos is over, so now I still left 3 major hurdles to cross before I can really start looking back on year 2007. Those 3 major hurdles, or in fact 4, according to the timeline are - 1) Open House CG booth 2) Chinese A level exam 3) Project Work Oral Presentation 4) Get promoted to JC2.

So after these 4 major events, I would finally be able to 100% relax myself. I still got one more month to go man, got to clench my teeth and bulldozer my way through.

National Chess Team Competition ( Results)

Just an update on the chess competition which I have taken part last Thursday. Overall, my team clinched 4th position, which is pretty good considering the fact that 10 teams took part in it. Below is just list of opponents whom I have played against.

It is a really good experience for me and I'll be looking forward to the Nationals for individual which will be held sometime next year in March. Btw, just in case you're curious, I didn't manage to get that cute Nanyang Girl's contact number... What a pity man.. She could have been the girl of my dreams... haha.

This will be the biggest chess tournament in Singapore and we are all hoping to win medals. MJC will be facing the strongest team during the 1st round against ACSI. Yo there I'm back after 2 weeks. Well life has been monotonous as usual, no changes at all. I can't wait for the 2 months long break to come..

For this blog entry, I have decided to talk a little bit about my personality. Now, just a question for those readers who know me: " What kind of personality does Dan have?" There will usually be two kind of responses. 1) Dan is a very quiet guy who tend to keep things to himself. He's a rather boring person to talk to because I just do not know what to talk to him about!!" and 2) Hmm, Dan is a rather rather quiet boy when I first met him, but after getting to know him for a while more, I realised that he's a very warm and friendly person whereby u can talk to him about anything around the universe. And he's rather 'horny' as well." HAHA.

So which kind of reply will you give? If u give the former, it shows that we don't really know each other well enough yet in such a way that I'm confident to open myself up to u. If u give the latter, it shows that I have regarded you as a trustworthy friend whom I'm confident to portray my true identity to. ( Which is a good thing)

Well up to now, I think only around 15-20% of my friends will give the second reply. Hmm, I think I better be more confident and open up to more people. Otherwise, there won't be many friends who will be able to see my TRUE personality...

Promotional Exam just a stone's throw away

In less than a months time, the promos would have arrived. So far, I think I have did alright in terms of my preparation as compared to the disastrous mid-year exam. At least I have revised a few topics so far as compared to zero at the same time months ago for the mid-yrs. It's now or never man...Got to make sure that i mug all the way till the promotion exams. No more distractions! I MUST get promoted man. There are just so many people, including myself, whom I just cannot let down.

All of us have worked hard for the past few months, so come on people, let us just endure this shit for another 1 month and it will soon be all over. Stay focused!

The Singapore under-23 team won once again, this time beating Bangladesh by 2 goals to 1. The goals were scored by both Riduan Muhammad and Fazrul Nawaz respectively. Both youngsters got their name on the scoresheet during the 4-2 win against Zimbabwe as well. Singapore top group B with 6 points and they will be facing Indonesia tomorrow, whereby a draw would see them through to the last four.

Well just an update on our very own Singapore team. For the Merdeka cup opener held in Malaysia, our Singapore under-23 squad managed to beat Zimbabwe by 4 goals to 2. The goals were scored by Agu Casmir (5th), Khairul Amri (16th), Muhanad Riduan(30th) and Fazrul Nawaz (34th). Singapore will be facing Bangladesh later today. This is a very good indication that the Singapore team has improved by leaps and bounds. In the past, they'll struggle to score even one goal. But now, they are able to fire 4 goals easily past Zimbabwe. This is sign of things to come. Come on Singaporeans! We should start supporting our Singapore National team. With our support, Singapore may even miraculously qualify for the 2010 world cup. Anything is possible!

Haiz, I just received a call from one of my school's teacher just now. She wanted me and another CG Chairperson whom I'm working with for the open house to come early in the morning at 7.15am. Apparantly, our proposal for the upcoming open house CG booths has been rejected and she wanted to meet up with us and maybe see how she can help us with it. Oh man, I can't remembered when was the last time where I can have the luxury to come at 8.30am every wednesday .. It seems like months ago man... How i miss the good old slacky days during the 1st 3 months.. I think i should start changing my blog title from ' everyday's a great day' to ' everyday is a sianz day'.

Anyway, I realised that some people just don't understand the hardwork which I have put in. Just because I look very happy and free on the outside doesn't necessarily means that I'm a happy go lucky person who doesn't give a shit about anything. Hey come on man! I have did so many things behind the scenes but yet, some people just don't see it. I always do my best in whatever task entrusted to me so please don't bloody accuse me of slacking and not doing my best for the things I'm entrusted to do... I sick and tired of all these nonsense already..

Yes it's National Day! That means I'll get to enjoy a good long 4 day break at home before resuming the normal 'no life' routine in school.

Went out with my sec school classmates yesterday. It was great that the 4 of us can get back together after such a long time since we last met many months ago. We got to talk over dinner and know how each one of us has been doing so far in their respective schools. Yeah and after that we just walked around the shopping mall and I chanced upon a CD collection of the chinese oldies ' Grasshopper'. Without hesitation, i decided to purchase it. Their songs was great as it brings back all the good old memories which i have had when i was just a young innocent boy.

Yeah that's about it and i wish Singapore a happy 42nd birthday!

Self-Reflection

It's late at night now, or should i say very early in the morning. Well I just watched the Asian Cup final on RTM 1 a few hours ago. Iraq came out the eventual winners by beating Saudi Aradia by a thoroughly deserved 1-0 scoreline. I'm very sure that many people, including me will be very happy that the Iraqi players have finally given joy and happiness to their war-torn country. Just recently on a news programme, an Iraqi once said, " Only football can bring joy to our country. It's not the government or anything else... Only football!!" And after saying that, he rose his AK-47 up in the air and fired mutiply shots into the air to celebrate their team's success... I'm just glad that something can finally bring joy to the people suffering in Iraq..

Anyway, while ramaging through my stuff this afternoon, I stumbled upon a piece of booklet which my class's ex-chairman has passed on to me months ago. It was just a booklet stating what a CG Chairperson( same as class monitor if u can't figure it out) should do. I read through quite a few of them and came to realise that I have not really been doing all of that at all. So i took some time to think through about it and in the end managed to inspire myself. I told myself that since I'm given this leadership opportunity, shouldn't I just make full use of it and do to the best of my ability? Rather than just slack around and not giving a hoot about it. So now i have a vision: To inspire my classmates to do well in their work by setting a good example of myself and try to bond them together as much as I could. But first, I got to gain confidence first.. the main problem which lies with me now is due to a lack of self-confidence... I really got to be more confident...

Chess Competition Day 2

Another week is over. Let me just take this opportunity to talk a little about the 2nd day of chess competition last Sunday because I was busy for the past few days and can't blog about it.

I got play like 2 out of 3 games last week and I drew one and win the last round. Overall, i think my team did quite alright given the fact that there are quite a number teams with all 3 national players in it. I believe we got around 6th to 7th position out of 20 over teams, which is not too bad i would say. We can all take pride with fact that we managed to achieve a clean sweep by winning the last round 3-0 to end the competition on a high. All in all on a personal level, I played 4 games and won 2, drew 1 and lost one. That should be quite good taking into account that I'm the only un-rated player in the team.

Yeah so that's all about the chess competition and I'm really looking forward to the nationals this upcoming August or September..

Chess Competition Day 1

Finally day 1 of the chess competition is over. Out of the 4 games, i only managed to compete 2 of them, which is the 1st and the 4th round repectively. The other rounds was played by our team's reserve player. Below is just a brief recap of all the nerve-wreaking experience which i have experienced while playing.

1st round: Meridian JC vs Victoria JC ( Defeat)
Well, Vjc is supposedly a very strong team. So of course without me needing to say, u guys should know that I've lost. However, my other two teammates played extremely well and we won with an aggregate score of 2-1, thus earning a precious point for our team. Despite my lost, I'm still pretty proud of myself as I've put up a really good fight against an opponent with a strong rating of 1400 plus... Considered that I'm an unrated player, I should take pride with the fact that I managed to hold him on for quite some time before I started losing my game after a forced exchange of my queen for a rook. At least I lose cleanly this time round...

4th round: Meridian JC vs Ngee Ann Poly (Victory)
Wow, this is a nerve-wreaking game for me man. I managed to checkmate my opponent with only 5 seconds left on my clock! I seriously wonder what I'll do if I lose the game through time-out. I will be letting myself down after all the hard work which I have put in for the last 1 and a half hours. I wasted quite a lot of time during end-game and that nearly cost me a victory. At that point in time, one of my teammates had won while the other lost, thus, it was all up to me and the other opponent of mine to decide which team will take the precious one point. It was an extremely tense moment. However with the support of my fellow IGC members who stayed on and supported me all the way till the end, I managed to overcome the pressure and defeat my opponent in the end. It was the first that I have tasted victory in a chess competition and it was really sweet man, haha..

Anyway, there's gonna be three more rounds to be played tomorrow. Be it whether I get to play 1,2 or maybe even 3 games, I will try my best tomorrow and contribute to the team. And all the best for those taking part in Chinese Chess and Wei Qi as well.

Yeah it's friday man! Finally I can take a short break from the study stress. Just told my mother about my mid-year results just now in the afternoon and she was totally appalled. I really wonder how my father will react when I tell him about it tomorrow, knowing that he gets overly anxious at times...

On a lighter note, I went to watch the movie Harry Potter with a few of my classmates just now in the evening. Overall it wasn't a bad movie, but I would think that the Globet of Fire is slightly better. I got say this man: Kingsley and Snape are my two favourite characters in the movie. They're the ones who made the show interesting. Watch out for them.

Anyway, I'll be taking part in another chess competition tomorrow. Hope that after getting humiliated in the first round at the previous competition, I can learn from my mistakes and not make such foolish errors again. Since the previous competition to now, I feel that I have improved my international chess skills by leaps and bounds. Thus, I'm aiming to taste victory for the first time tomorrow and at the same time help my team gain precious points.

Asian Cup 2007

In just 24 hours time, the 2007 Asian Cup will kick off. It's gonna be an interesting tournament, especially with ASEAN teams such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam taking part in it as they are the hosts. A pity that the ASEAN champions Singapore will not be taking part... Tonight would most probably be the last soccer match played at the good old Kallang Stadium. It would be a mouth-watering clash between Asia cup favourites Australia against our very own ASEAN champions Singapore!

If you have the time, please go the the National Stadium and support the lions there one last time. We can all relive the good old Kallang roar just like the Malaysia cup and the ASEAN cup days. So come on fellow Singaporeans, let's go roar the lions on. It'll be great if Singapore can end the last game at the National Stadium with a victory over Australia. Go Singapore!

Okay so it's finally confirmed. My favourite soccer player Roy Makaay will be leaving my favourite club Bayern Munich for Feyenoord next season. I'll miss him man.... Just wanna wish him all the best in Holland and it would be great if he can play for The Netherlands again in Euro 2008. End of Mid-years exams

Finally its the end of the mid-year examinations. Out of all 6 subjects. the one which i think i have a realistic chance of passing will be chinese, haha.

Went out with my class( 07s208) today and we all watched the movie 'Transformer'. Not a bad movie i would say. The only problem with it was that i don't really understand what those robots are trying to do...quite meaningless i guess. Yeah and this is first time my class has an outing after like so long and it was not too bad i would say. Just a pity that we never took any photos.

Anyway, I just received news yesterday that Miroslav Klose will be coming to Bayern Munich for the next season. I have mixed feelings over this news. I'm happy that Bayern will be stronger next season with the addition of another good striker. However, the arrival of Klose would most likely lead to my favourite player roy makaay leaving the club. What a waste man. How i wish he could stay for another season. But nevertheless, Bayern Munich will still be my favourite club no matter what happens.

This is deeply saddening. I just received news two days ago that my ex-classmate from Catholic High has passed away due to heart failure. This sudden incident has made me realised that life is extremely fragile. We should always treasure our lives and those around us, be it our family or friends. Make everyday a meaningful one and live without any regrets.. This is one important lesson which I have learnt.

And Thaddeus, Just wanna say that u'll never be forgotten by us. Rest in peace my friend...

Yo welcome to my 40th post. After some soccer updates from my previous two posts, I shall revert back to talking about my life again.

In less than 48 hours, It'll be the mid-year exams. Damn, I'm getting more and worried after each hour. I've not revised finished yet, still got plenty to do... I'll be aiming for a least an S grade for all subjects, seriously hoping that i can make it man.

Alright next, I shall reflect about my June vacation. Well all in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the things which I have done this month. Unlike previous years where I would just stay at home for the whole day, this time round, I actually stayed out of home more often than at home. ( Colin, you heard that? haha)

Ya at least i did things such as going out with my friends to play pool, stayed over at my friend's home to watch soccer, study at macs etc. These are stuffs that I was very unwilling to do in the past. I guess I'm no longer a country bumpkin? Haha.

Yeah that's about it for my June vacation. Term 3 is arriving soon and I got to make sure that i pay full attention during all the lectures. No more dreaming around man. It's time to get serious.

Middle of the June vacation

Went back to school to study with my friend today. Wow, this is the first time I have studied since ages. Got to start now man, time is seriously running out.

As you all now, its the middle of the june holidays now. In the blink of an eye, two weeks have flown past just like that. I have wasted two whole weeks. I have not trained my NAPFA, not played any games at all ( not inclusive of yahoo chess) and not done many things which i have planned to do during the june holidays. This is frustrating man!!

Oh btw, i went back to cathigh yesterdayto collect my o level certificate. Guess who i met? Its my beloved geography teacher Mrs Goh. Wow I have not seen her for months but she's still the same old wise teacher. No changes at all man.

Yeah and one more thing, I finally managed to get my hands on the chinese ghost movie " troublesome night". I can't wait to watch it man. Its not only frightening, but hilarious as well. These are what makes a good horror movie.

One last sentence before i go off : Klose, please do NOT come to Bayern Munich next season. If you wanna come, please join for the season after next. Just don't come!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed man, haha.

Back from LTC

Just came back from the LTC camp yesterday. On the whole, it was not as bad as i thought it would have been. I had quite a lot of fun i guess. The camp was meaningful but extremely tiring.

I actually thought of enjoying myself after sleeping for a few good hours on my bed yesterday. However after i have woken up, I realised that i was feeling damn sick. My fever shot up to 39 degree celsius this morning, accompanied by a series of cough, sore throat and running nose. The worst was my backache which kept me awake for the whole night yesterday.

But all in all i'm feeling much better than after consulting the doctor and taking my medication. I seriously hope to recover by tomorrow morning. Got to start doing my revision as soon as possible. Two weeks is almost gone and I have not even started on a single subject. I really worried man.

Futhermore, as the CG chairperson, I have to start planning and doing my proposals for that stupid time wasting open house this coming October. I'm seriously wondering what's the best way to get into contact with my classmates to discuss about it since now its the june holidays. Maybe i should e-mail them. Aiya whatever la. I don't really give a hoot about it anyway. My main prority now is to study first, the rest will be secondary...

Meaningful Wednesday

Went out with my good old 1st 3 months JC buddy to Dhoby Gaut today after chemistry lessons. We played pool for like around 22 times? I won 10 and he won 12, damn it haha. Yeah and after that we had dinner at some food court and start talking lots of thrash. Its good man, getting to relive the good old days of laughter during PAE, which I have not experienced for a long time since the start of the new term. I really miss it man...

Anyway, its gonna be camping time for me starting this friday all the way to next monday. I just hope that i can quickly get it over and done with. Camps are really a waste of my precious time man seriously. I got to sacrifice so many activities for the sake of it, stupid crap...

However, one thing that can keep my spirits up would be the fact that Luca Toni has finally signed a 4 year deal with my favourite club Bayern Munich. Together with roy makaay, lukas podolski and Jan Schlaudraff, Bayern's strike force is gonna be devastating baby, haha. Seriously, with Bayern in the UEFA cup, teams such as Spurs and Bolton ( no offence to these two teams ) can only dream about winning it man. Bayern will definitely be the UEFA cup winners for year 07/08. Just wait and see.

June vacation

Wow, the long-awaited June break has finally arrived. There are just so many things which i want to do during this one whole month. But actually its not really considered to be a month as i have lots of stuff to settle during the first week such as extra lessons and the LTC camp etc. So for the remaining three weeks, this is what I'm intending to do:

1) Catch up on my studies and prepare well enough to at least pass the Mid-year exams this coming july.

2) Train up on my fitness, especially chin-up and standing broad jump. Must try to attain a pass by the end of this year.

3)Train up on my chess skills, especially international chess. I'll be taking part in another competition this coming July and I hope to win something. Chess is my passion man.

4) Spend some time going out my friends. Hope to at least find some time to catch up with my good old cathigh buddies, and of course not forgetting my new JC friends as well.

5) Would like to play and try to complete the ps2 game: Spiderman 2. After watching the spiderman 2 movie on channel 5, I just got the urge to play the game. I can't wait anymore!

Yeah that's about it. I hope I can spend my time wisely for this particular June vacation, unlike the past when I would just spend the whole month wasting my life staying at home playing ps2. Have a nice day people.

Stress. That's the only word which i can think of right now. Just so many things had happened during the past week. Such as me being the CG chairperson ( for the first time in my life), mind-wreaking GPP and tons of unfinished homework. Fitness Misery

NO!! I failed my 2.4km run once again. I got a lousy timing of 14.42. But come think of it, it is actually not too bad at all if I were to take into account that I have not ran for like almost a month. I will just have to increase my pace in the future..

NAPFA is really a headache for me man. From sec 3 all the way to now, I can't even do a single pull-up and i'm even struggling for my standing broad jump. I think i better start training hard during the upcoming June break. Must attain at least a Bronze by the end of this year. I know I can do it as long as I put in the effort... wouldn't want to get enlisted into NS earlier than the rest just because I can't attain at least a silver for my IPPT. Got to work hard from now... No more slacking and procrastinating.. Its time to get the job done.

My Old Civics Tutor

I met my old CT, Mrs Suhaimy, at the bus-stop while waiting for bus 109 today. It was great to finally to see her again after 2 months. While waiting for our buses, we get to catch up with each other quite a bit and chatted about any stuffs that came to ur mind. She asked me many questions ranging from how Diyana and Lawrence are doing in TPJC to whether I'm watching the MJC soccer match later in the afternoon, haha. She even asked whether we'll be organising another class outing in the near future. Maybe she wants to come along? I hope so.

Yes and one more thing: I just realised from Mrs Suhaimy today that my current GP teacher, Euodia Chua, was her former student from last year. What a coincidence man!

Anyway, its friday again and I can finally get some well deserved rest...

Yeah, I finally got a new international chess set today. So now I have both an international and chinese chess set and I'm planning to buy even more board games in the future such as Reversi etc to add to my collections. I'm intending to turn my room into a board game lounge whereby u can find any board games one can ever think of, haha. I love board games man!

International Chess ( round 1 to 4)

Went to HCJC for the chess competition just now. As a reserve, i only managed to play 1 game and guess wad? I lost via time-out. I'm feeling pretty sore about it due to the fact that my opponent from National JC did not beat me fare and square. That guy is damn picky and care about tiny winy stuffs such as the 'touch move' rule. This was what happened: It was my turn and i have decided to do castling. What i did was to take the rook and exchange its position with my king. And u know wad happen next? That sissy opponent of mine claimed 'touch move' and said that for castling, we are supposed to touch the King first and exchange its position with the rook. Thus, it not only meant that i can't castle the rock, it also meant that I can only move the rook only! And from then on, the scale was tipped against my favour. Just what the hell is this man! Come on la! If u're good, then try to beat me cleanly using ur intellectual ability, please do not use this sort of ah gua tricks to win la. Its just castling, must u be so picky about it? This is stupid man...

Nevertheless, it was a good experience for me as it was my first time taking part in a chess competition. I will be looking forward to more of such competitions in the future and could only hope for more sporting opponents in future competitions.

Yes and 1 more thing to add, the chinese chess team has lost almost all of their games. it was damn amusing man, haha. All the best to u guys for next week's 5th to 7th round competition. Do Mj proud!

This is it. Tomorrow will be the international chess competition in HCJC. I just received news a few days ago that 1 of my school's chess member( he's the best out of all of us) can't make it for the competition in the morning. Thus he has bestowed upon me the task of taking over him for the first 2 games before he comes in the afternoon. So that means i can finally get a chance to apply whatever i have learnt for the past few weeks into this chess competition.

Ya, so this will be my first time taking part in a chess competition and i just hope that i can win some games and earn points for my team. Wish me the best of luck man!

AC Milan vs Liverpool

AC Milan beat Man U by three clear goals to go through to the finals with an aggregate score of 5-3. This scoreline comes not of great suprise to me as I know Milan are an extremely strong team. They have extremely creative players such as Clarence Seedorf, Kaka and Pirlo who are capable of destroying even the strongest of teams. Thus from the start, I already knew that Man U had not much of a chance of knocking out AC Milan at all.

Now, it is proven that the English teams are not really the strongest teams around in Europe for the fact that there would not be an ' all english final' as predicted by most soccer fans in Singapore. It would instead be an English vs Italian final- a repeat of the 04/05 champions league final.

AC Milan will be looking for revenge against Liverpool for snatching away their champions league trophy two seasons ago. It will be an explosive encounter in Athens on 23 May and it would be great if channel 5 could broadcast it live because i do not have scv at home. Sad...

Family fun fest

Just came back home from the Family fun fest. The highlight of the day was that me and two of my other IGC friends get to mix around and play games with a group of year 3 poly students. Those people were really warm and friendly, thus making it extremely fun to play with them. We managed to teach and play quite a number of games with them for a whole of three hours from 4pm to 7pm before they have to depart. A pity i didn't ask for their contacts( especially one of the girls whom i'm quite attracted to) before they leave so that i could still keep in touch with them...what a waste...

Man, Bayern lost again. What a joke, haha. I'm too used to it already. Shall see them in UEFA cup next season then..

Busy week

This is one of the busiest week of my life so far in mjc. CCA twice a week for 4 hours each and a stupid family fun fest event which will take up my whole precious weekend. There are just so many things to do- plenty of tutorials, access E-learning for Econs and Chem plus my PI. Just how am i gonna cope man? Looks like i'll have to sacrifice my ps2 time on friday to do all these stuffs.. what a waste..

Btw, on my way home today, one of my IGC mates told me that i would most likely be a reserve for the upcoming chess competition. Damn, I have been looking to it since last week and now they are telling me that i'm a reserve? That's complete crap man.

Anyway i better go do my e-learning now, otherwise i may not have enough time to do so during the weekends. And Bayern Munich, you guys better make sure that u thrash Hamburg on Saturday and give me something to cheer about over the weekends..

Fatigue

Yo there. Its finally nearing the weekend. It has been an extremely stressful week for me man. Came home at around 7 plus everyday and can't concentrate on doing my homework at all.

Got back quite a couple of tests this week and i didn't manage to pass a single one of them. Oh man, i think i better do away with my slacking attitude and start working a little bit harder from now on. To say the truth, I have not really been paying attention during lectures and tutorials for the past few days. Thus i'm really lagging right behind others and got to catch up as soon as possible.

And 1 more thing, I have signed up for an international chess competition which would take place on the 5th and 12th of May at HCJC. This would be my first time taking part in a chess competition after years of playing recreational chess. I just hope to gain some experience from it and maybe win a few games to boost my morale.

Yeah that's about it for today. I cannot wait for the weekends to arrive...

In a blink of an eye, another weekend has arrived. For some reason which i do not know of, this week seems to pass by pretty quickly. Well nothing much has happened, still the same old routine every week.

However, I have started to redevelop my interest in international chess. Well chess rocks man! It is a game which can develop your intellectual ability as it allows you to think and plan strategies to outwit, outlast and outplay your opponent. It is a really fun game and allows you to release stress( although some may think otherwise, depends on how you look at it). Anyway, for those of you who feels bored and has nothing much to do online, i suggest you guys to log on to yahoo chess and have a fun time. Yeah.

Well its almost 12 midnight now. I think i shall go enjoy a few games of winning eleven in ps2 now before going all out to do my homework tomorrow. Have a great weekend ahead.

The first thing I heard this morning was that Man U thrashed Roma 7-1. What a cracker man! Now I really want and demand my favourite team Bayern Munich to knock out the arrogant AC Milan out of the champions league to set up an exciting semi-final encounter with Man U.

AC Milan has been really cocky and kept on babbling about how they're gonna beat Bayern at their homeground. I have only two words for them: DREAM ON!! Bayern has never lost at the Allianz Arena in the champions league before and Milan can only dream about about beating them there.

My prediction: Bayern will beat AC Milan by two clear goals and get their revenge against AC Milan to set up a great semi-final match against Man U.

Saturday Outing

I have just finished half of my PI. Got to do the rest tomorrow..

Went out with my old CG(s213) today. It was an enjoyable one albeit there was only six of us guys and no girls came. Timothy and Yan yi left early after we have watched that very boring movie - Meet the Robinson, leaving only me, rick, susu and lawrence. After lunch, we went to E-zone and had a great time playing pool. Lawrence and I beat rick and susu 1 time 2 times 3 times 4 times before losing to them twice at the last two games. Haha it was fun man.

Anyway after that we left home as Rick got something on. All in all, it was a great outing as the four of us finally managed to get together and relive the good old days which we all had during the 1st three months in mjc. Yeah man!!

Wow finally the weekend has arrived. It's a good time to catch up with my homework and replenish my mind with plenty of rest. It will be a good long weekend..

This week, I must say, have been a one of the better days which i have experienced so far since the start of the new term. I have interacted much more with most of my classmates and i'm getting to know them better. Things are starting to look up for me and I'm almost back to adopting the ' Everyday's a great day' attitude. Yeah man!! Moreover, Bayern Munich's 2-2 draw in Milan was just the icing on the cake. Haha..

Well, as the stressful jc life goes on, I got to make sure that I concentrate hard and not lose sight of my goal this year, which is to do reasonably well in the promotional exams and get promoted to JC2. Yeah that's all for today and have a great long weekend ahead!

Wow, in the blink of an eye, the champions league quarter finals have arrived. I shall take this opportunity to give my thoughts and predictions for all 4 mouth-watering clashes between the 8 quarter finalists for the 1st leg. I shall make my predictions for the 2nd leg ties next week.

AC Milan vs Bayern Munich:
Wow this is definitely the most exciting tie of all man. It is a repeat of last season's second round knock-out stage where Milan annihilated Bayern 4-1 at the San Siro. Bayern will be looking for revenge and that alone shall prevent them from suffering a defeat at the same stadium.

This I must admit should be the most boring tie out of the four as both sides have already met earlier on in the competition. I forsee this to be a game of tactical strategy rather than a game of beautiful football.

Milestone goal for Roy Makaay!!

Yeah!! My favourite soccer player Roy Makaay have just scored his 100th goal for my favourite team FC Bayern Munich!! At only the 3rd minute, Makaay drove a clinical strike past goalkeeper Neuer to give Bayern the lead before Hasan Salihamidzic added a second at the 78 minute to seal a 2-0 victory over Schalke 04. Bayern is still fourth on the table despite the win and the Bundesliga is getting increasing exciting. Go Bayern!! As for Roy Makaay, I'm sure you will carry on scoring goals for Bayern and fire them into the champions league semi-finals and start by scoring a brace against AC Milan. Keep on scoring man!!

Nostalgia

Wow, its been been pretty busy for me nowadays, reaching home as late as 7 pm everyday. JC life is real stressful man...

Today was the 1st day where our class get to meet up with our tutors. It wasn't too bad, with many people joking about and crapping with the Civics Tutor. However, it can never be the same as the good old days of 07s213. Haiz... I know i shouldn't kept on dwelling about the past and should look on to the future.... But i just find it a pity... it was a really cool class and how i wish i could just spent the next two years with them. Life in mjc would then be great man...

Alright enough of all these depressing stuffs... Its pretty late now and i think i better go get some rest... Just hoping for the best..

Weekends Finally

Well I'm glad that the weekends have finally arrived. It has been a real energy-sapping week for me and I desperately need to have a good rest.

Came home quite late today( around 7pm). After the so-called CG lunch, the majority of the class went off, abandoning me, Charles, Guo Min, Wan Yee and Jack. Since we have nothing better to do, the five of us decided to go back to school . In the end, We talked lots of crap and even played some card games as well. It was great as we get to bond and know each other better. It is definitely far more easier to socialise in a small group of 4 to 5 people as compared to a large company where i would usually be quite reserved and quiet. Yeah so that's all for today, I need to go get some good rest now.

Start of lessons

Today was finally the start of lessons after a tiring 3 days of orientation. I was very tired and didn pay attention during the lectures at all. Think i better start waking up my idea and work hard from now on.

Went out with the good old 07s213 after school today. It was great getting to meet each other and re-lived all the laughters and fun once again. I really miss the dudes and dudettes man! Anyway, my current class 07s208 isn't too bad either and i'm looking forward to a great 2 years with them. That's all about it for today and i hope the weekend can come as soon as possible. I desperately need a good rest.

An Urgent need to make things clear

Hey people, those of you who have read my blog very recently may have seen some obscene messages appearing on the tagboard. I just want to make it very clear that that I was NOT the one who posted those messages. It is being posted by someone who has really nothing better to do( I know the culprit, but i won't reveal the name due to security reasons). I have banned that user from tagging on my tagboard ever again. So i hope everybody will forget about that incident and carry on visiting my blog. Thank you.

Nearing the end of March holidays

Yo good evening, I have just returned home from my class outing today. It was a pity that only around half of the class managed to make it for today's outing, but nevertheless, it was a an enjoyable one for me as I get a chance to bond with friends whom I have made during my first 2 months in Mj, before we get separated into our permanent classes. I would miss everybody for sure.

I just want to take this oppportunity to thank everybody in 07s213 for making my stay in Mj during the first 2 months a great and enjoyable one. I wish you guys all the best in whichever school you are in and most important of all, we must continue to keep in touch with one another. Callisto 4 rocks man!

An all english champions league final?

Hi there good afternoon. I would like to take this opportunity to talk about something which have been going on recently in the sports news. As all soccer fans know, after the draw of the champions league quarter finals was made, there have been all sorts of talk about an ' all english champions league final'. Well right now I shall give the reasons why I find all this talks pretty pointless.

Firstly, it is a complete disrespect to other teams which are still in the competition such as Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Valancia, As Roma and PSV Einhoven. These five teams deserve some recognition for the fact that they manage to come this far in this competition. Do epl fans really think that only the English teams are the most superior and not others from the rest of Europe?

Secondly, the UEFA champions league is a platform for teams all over Europe to compete with each other and do not only themselves but their countries proud. So what's the use of a final with the teams from the same country competing with each other for the glory? It's quite pointless don't you think? It's like watching an epl match where the only difference is the stadium.

So having said all that, I would just like all epl fans to know that the champions league does not only evolve around English teams but teams from other European countries as well. So please give them the respect they deserve.

An update on my life so far

Yo there again. Welcome to my second post of the day. I shall take this opportunity to talk about how my life has went so far since the start of the year 2007. Alright, year 2007, i must say, have been a great period of fun and enjoyment. Seriously, everyday is really a great day in Meridian Junior College. I have a wonderful provisional class(07s213) with great classmates. Everyday is one full of laughter and excitement, haha. This is a complete contrast to my previous school in cathigh where life everyday is just monotonous and boring. ( but of course i've made quite a few gd friends there). Mjc is great!

Well speaking of Mj, it just makes me feel fortunate. This is due to the fact that i have quite a couple of friends who didn manage to get in despite getting the same L1R5 as me( I got an L1R5 of 10 after bonus). To these people such as Lawrence and Diyana, I sure hope that your appeals can be successful. Otherwise, just stay focus in the jcs you guys are in and make sure you get into university( JC life is only a short 2 years). All the best man.
